911whats your emergency that I can’t help you with?

I’ve been meaning to post, but this hope I had for writing everyday is already out the window. Oh well. It’s snowing here and cold. Chuck is in LA and it’s 80 and sunny. Go figure.

So the other night I was driving home from my mom’s house and there was a car broken down in the left lane of a major highway. I called 911 because there really wasn’t any point in me stopping to try and help and getting killed in the process. The conversation was amazing with the dispatcher. I am never surprised to hear the amazing things that happen to people when they call 911. I told her exactly where the accident was. Mile marker and everything. I have spent 20 years of my life in that area and know it like the back of my hand. She proceeded to argue with me about the location. She just couldn’t figure it out. After a few minutes of back and forth banter she finally got it. Now if it was a true medical emergency the critical first 5 minutes are out the window for sure with this lady. With all the technology we have she should have been able to pick up my cell phone signal that I was calling on and pin point me to the foot. We have technology in downtown Philly but apparently she doesn’t have it where ever she was. Nope not this rocket scientist. Hopefully the person got help and nothing happened. Being a medical professional, it never ceases to amaze me the people whose hands we put our lives in. It makes me crazy and just motivates me to do and be better on a daily basis.

Baby Brighton

This is Kim and Denny’s new baby - Brighton Patrick Bruce. He is perfect. In every way. He rules the house for sure and has a nicer wardrobe then all of us combined. His pant choice of the day is a dwell baby one piece suit with brown polka-dots. Onesie’s rule!

ok here goes nothing…

hello world. I’m going to do my best to make the happenings of my life interesting.  Can’t make any promises, but since I work in one of the busiest and craziest hospitals in the country I am sure on occasion it will be.  Today is my last day off from work before I start the spring semester of classes.  We should be in Vermont right now snowboarding and hanging with Chris and Anna, but due to no snow, Chuck being sick and Oma getting out of the hospital, those plans got scrapped.  We are going to try and make it down to the beach to see Denny, Kim and their new offspring Brighton for a day…I’ll post some good shots later.  pants of the day are seven denim. oh so classic and comfy for an all day movie marathon on the couch. aw yeah.
