Leap Year

Today is Chuck’s pretend Birthday. He would be about 8 3/4 right now if we really counted only the years he actually had a day to celebrate on. He is a leap year baby. Yes indeed. Very rare. That makes him even more special. I rented out an indoor paintball place and invited a bunch of our friends. Should be a blast! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK!

The Departed

Best movie ever ever ever! Every single scene was amazing. It will be a movie that will become a classic. I am so psychd it won a bunch of silly awards because that means it’ll be around for awhile! Mark Wahlberg should have won an award simply for his usage of the word “Fu*k” in that movie! Go buy it and watch it if you haven’t already.

My Job
If you don’t know me then let me tell you I love my job. Today. We’ll see about tom. Today was a great day and a lot of good things happened. We saved some lives and made a huge difference in some others. I’ll sleep good tonight.

Yeah well, whatever that means. I just wanted to say I hope that we don’t forget about what’s still going on down in New Orleans. It is still a war zone down there. It feels like people have totally forgotten and moved on. It’s seems all Ok on the surface but the media always has a funny way of making it out to be either worse or better then it is. Here is a good shot to remind us while we show our boobs what is happening at the heart of this holiday. For real, For real.

Dentist
Today I spent the entire morning in the dentist chair. Not fun. Not comfortable. Not Happy. I went for the typical simple procedure and wound up being there for almost 3 hours. Nightmare. He was nice enough to give me numbing gel and vicodin on my way out as my parting gift. The bad part was I couldn’t take any of it because I went straight to the hospital to put in a long painful shift. By the time I got home my head hurt so bad that I almost forgot about the tooth. I didn’t eat anything but jello and rice pudding yesterday at 9pm. Tom. I’m gonna try and add some yogurt and maybe even get crazy and try some soup. Miserable. It’ll all be worth it in the end though. Dentists get such a bad reputation and I can now understand why. I really like my dentist, infact he is a really great guy, but the fact that I associate such a high level of pain with his office just doesn’t bode well. I have to go back in 2 weeks. Can’t wait. Ugh. Hope you all had a better Monday then me!
No commentsStowe..Yikes
Here’s some crazy news from VT:

“Stowe Mountain Rescue has issued an advisory that anybody considering travel in the backcountry should be alert to extemely high avalanche danger, due to the recent heavy snowfall. With continued cold temperatures forecasted, it is expected that these conditions will continue through the weekend into next week.”

Be careful.

Thanks for the new wallpaper Chuck!

Jackson hole
Jackson Hole (Teton Village, Wyo., February 16, 2007) Nine inches overnight, eight straight days of snowfall, a seven foot snow base and plenty more forecast. The numbers don’t lie.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, WY is 100% open with the best ski conditions in the Rockies, and neighboring resort Grand Targhee has the deepest snow base in the country. This is no lie. That place is amazing. A little hard to access, but well worth the drive. (This is me in Targhee up to my waist)

Why do I live in a city? We went to Jackson a few years back and it was amazing. Chuck, Bird, Phil, Bobby and Duane made the trip but for some reason everyone but Chuck and Duane missed the best day of snowboarding I have ever had. Hands down. We made the drive through the pass and around the other side of Jackson to Targhee. The only thing I knew about it at the time was my friend Ryan once sent me an insane photo of him from there with huge trees and heeps of snow in the background. It was 30 bucks (which was almost 50 bucks cheaper then Jackson) for the whole day. They had gotten at least 3 feet of powder and Jackson hadn’t gotten an inch. There was nobody there. It was mid-week and I don’t think anyone knew what had happened over night. We rode powder until I couldn’t walk anymore and Chuck wrapped himself around a tree at one point so that quickened our exit. He even let us ride a little longer while he sat in the medical room and hung with the rescue guys. There were even fresh tracks right below the lifts at the end of the day. It was like our own private paradise. There wasn’t even a need to be in the trees, but we managed to get there anyway. It was still, despite Chucks accident, the best day ever. Chuck even tells everyone it was his best day ever - even though he spent the next few months at the rehab place in Newtown walking backwards on a treadmill and getting electro therapy on his knee. Here are just a couple of the amazing photos from our trip. Man I wish sometimes we lived closer to the mountains. Mind you in a couple of months when it gets warm out I’ll be posting “man I wish we lived closer to the ocean” Ha.

Burlington Sunset
Just found these and needed to give Vermont some props for 8 good years of sunsets and also some of the most amazing sunrises driving to Stowe for fresh tracks.

Best Sunsets
I’m gonna do a lot of posts about sunsets because I love them and I am obsessed with taking photos of them and making sure where ever I am I see at least one a week. My job makes that task difficult, but even if I have to go up on the helipad I will get my sunset in.
This particular post is about the sunsets in Greece. My Best buddy Betsy and I went to Greece once apon a time and we saw some amazing sunsets there. Infact, I think we saw most of the sunrises too since we were still awake from the night before. That’s another story all together. Some person took an amazing photo of us infront of one on the beaches in corfu and I am going to dig through my hundreds of boxed in my basement and find it one day soon. It’s in one of my scrap books. I remember the exact moment in time the picture was taken. That doesn’t always happen and I really only have a few moments like that in my life. She was wearing my yellow plaid dress and I had on my Italian red hoodie that I bought in the market for 10 bucks (which i still own by the way). Betsy has the best curly blond hair. it was crazy curly from the sun and salt water and the two of us couldn’t have been having a better time. I love moments like that. It makes life and true friendship that much better.
Can’t wait to have more amazing moments like that come into my life. Now stop reading and go capture a moment.

Abuelito
Chuck’s grandfather was an amazing man. He was smart, witty and loved his family more then anything else. I felt so lucky to have shared the time in Argentina that I did with him. I always think of him on my birthday. He told me this great story that I had to be careful the night of my birthday because when it came it would arrive with a rumble. He told me I should always hold on tight to the side of the bed because the whole house would shake as another year passed me by. Hilarious. Beyond his infinite wisdom, he was a soft and gentle man that was the center of his families hearts. We miss him. He would have been 95 today. Feliz cumpleaños Abuelito!

Snow
We got some of it the last day or so. Not the kind that I wish we had. The best part about living in Vermont was the powder days when we didn’t have to go to work. That was the best part about working at Burton. Really it was the only good thing about working there besides free product. Not having to go to work because we were going to go ride fresh powder at Stowe. I miss those days. Now I get up before the sun and dig out my car and scrape off the ice and head in no matter what. The hospital never closes and the patients are always there waiting for me. I like that. I’m ok with it and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Sometimes though I dream about getting the email that says the hospital is closed today so go ride powder! Maybe we should move to Jackson Hole where there might be a better chance of that hospital getting powder days.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
Love you Chuck!

Photos that rule.
These are 3 of the best shots ever. Photo credit to my talented husband Chuck. These kids are amazing and we miss them…and their parents too…hint hint. Hope they get to come to Philly soon!

My Last Name is Fun
People always ask me to spell my last name. White? How hard is that? I’ve only had it for a couple of years now and I didn’t think it was going to be this hard for people to spell. I always spell it and then say “like the color”. People think that’s pretty funny and I just laugh to myself and secretly think..what an idiot… Dunkin Donuts (I would write doughnuts just for Coulter but I gotta get the trademark spelling right) marketing is amazing. Here’s a pefect exmple of simple humor that I can totally relate to…

BIRD
My Best Friend…What can I say…He’s available ladies….

Happy Birthday Ry
This photo is amazing. Makes me laugh every time I see it. Hope you have a great day! Eat Cake.

ANNA QUIT ALREADY!!
This post is for you girlfriend. Time to put down the cigarette and be a normal person again. I’ve been telling you to quit since the day I met you and you still have yet to take me up on my offer. I know you can do it. Please. Pretty Please? I promise not to take any more pictures like this one of you….and you won’t have to stand outside in the cold anymore. Can’t wait to come to Vermont in 2 weeks and I’m thinking maybe you’ll have quit by then and I can post an addendum to this note. Luv ya anyway loser.

Curly-Q
So I went and did something I never do. Got my hair done like a prissy chick. Curls and all. It was a fun night and we had a blast doing it. My hairdresser, who is also a good friend of mine, is thinking about taking a big step out on her own and I say GO FOR IT LORI!! Here are some photos of my hair…
