WEST coast
we headed out to the west coast of Florida after Disney.
It was great. Perfect weather. No one on the beach and plenty of time to do absolutely nothing. We ate amazing food and just hung out. The place we stayed was amazing.

Our annual shot for the last 8 years.

Mini Golf
Took in 18 holes with a volcano at Hawaiian Rumble. Chuck won. I came in second. Adam brought up the rear. It was a cool course.

Disney
We headed over to Disney for 2 days after paintball. We did all 4 parks in 2 days with the park hopper. It poured rain the first day but the second wasn’t as bad. It was actually kind of fun with the ponchos. There was no one in the parks and we really never waited in line. We won a fast past at MGM which allowed us to hop on any ride whenever we wanted. It was cool.

No commentsI love stupid stuff like this…
Keep in mind this was done by Travel and Leisure magazine. ugh..yeah…their opinion on best places kind of sucks anyway…but I think this is funny. Maybe it’ll make the people that read that magazine stay away…fine by me. no offense of course.

“Mon Oct 22, 10:55 AM ET
PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Philadelphia is home to the least attractive people in the United States, a survey of visitors and residents showed on Friday.
The city of more than 1.5 million people was also found to be among the least stylish, least active, least friendly and least worldly, according to the “America’s Favorite Cities” survey by Travel & Leisure magazine.
About 60,000 people responded to the online survey — at www.travelandleisure.com — which ranked 25 cities in categories including shopping, food, culture, and cityscape, said Amy Farley, senior editor at the magazine.
For unattractiveness, Philadelphia just beat out Washington DC and Dallas/Fort Worth for the bottom spot. Miami and San Diego are home to the most attractive people, the poll found.
But Farley pointed out the results don’t mean people in Philadelphia are ugly or the city is a bad place to visit.
“We were asking people to vote on attractiveness, not unattractiveness. Travel & Leisure editors believe there are a lot of attractive people in Philadelphia,” she said.
“The relative attractiveness of its residents is only a minuscule factor in evaluating a city’s merit.”
Gotta love people that actually sit around and collect this data. Do you think that’s what they wanted to be when they grew up… a collector of survey information full of useless facts and information. hmmm
No commentsNice Change
Today I woke up to the sound of rain.
Never thought I would say I like it, but it’s a nice change. We haven’t had a rainy day in a really long time. I busted out my wellies for the drive and hike into the hospital. Big, dirty, city puddles suck. I am sure there will be lots of Car wrecks because of the rain - so it should be a busy day.
Here’s to rainy quiet mornings that turn into crazy insane days in the ER. Love it.
Bring it on.

SOUP

I stopped by a soup kitchen that is on my way home from the hospital last night. We had given out a ton of soft pretzels at the safety fair and we had left overs. I took about 250 of them to the kitchen for the homeless. On my way there I started thinking about how other people can get involved. It sometimes seems like you don’t know where to start when you want to get involved. I get that question a lot and I am still trying to figure out how to involve my own personal friends with my projects.. but in the mean time here is a wonderful world organization to end poverty (which includes hunger). Talking about it makes it important and people start to contribute.
It’s infective in so many ways!
It’s important to find your local area shelters too and contact them to get involved. Especially with the Holidays coming up. every little bit helps- even if you think it won’t.

the FJ got some new stickers..she looks good. Now I just need to get those black rims put on..

Work Project
Had the annual safety fair at the hospital yesterday. For the last 3 years my booth has been the “peoples choice award” winner. Guess all those years in art school paid off again. I had some stiff competition this year (the guys from life flight brought one of the helicopters in and were bribing people with free tours on the roof) (not fair! ha) but I prevailed. My poop mobiles took the first prize. I am going to take the money and use it to buy blankets, gloves, hats and scarves for the homeless project I have going for the winter months.
Go me!
Here are some of the displays:

Invasion…
So much fun!
Aquarium, Pumpkin Patch and lots of hugs and giggles and smiles.
Wish they would come back soon…here are the highlights:
The aquarium in Camden and the kids in the please pet the shark exhibit:

These jelly fish were my favorite besides the giant turtles.

The chaos of the shark tube. it was scary and crazy and fun all at the same time

Jennifer and the kidos

Satchel at the real world philly house

Nap time

The Card family met us at the Pumpkin patch with their little man Benito who loved the wooden plane and Talula!!

We all took a hayride into the woods to the good witches house.

Me and my boy

Me and Andrea (mommma to be again!!)

Nashville Invasion
Can’t wait for the Birch family to come and visit us from Nash-Vegas this weekend.
We are going to the pumpkin patch, the zoo and the aquarium and anything else we can possibly squeeze in.
oh yeah and lots of hugs with the best kids in the world!!

Too cute for words
I could just eat this little man alive. He is getting so big and learning new things by the day..
It was so great to have them down at the beach with us!

Closed for Business
So we shut down the ‘07 shore house this past weekend. Bummer. The weather continues to be amazing here in Philly. Yesterday was 88 - today is supposed to be 85. I can’t remember the last time it stayed warm for this long. I’ll take it. Here are some parting shots from the weekends…
The first day it was super foggy and at some points you couldn’t see 10 feet in front of you. Crazy.

There were finally waves for 3 days straight. yipeee.

I drove the FJ on the beach. That’s always a good time.

These people spend like 60 grand to ship these palm trees in every summer. They die in the winter and they pull them out and bring in new ones again. It’s so crazy. It looks really nice, but you would think they would get tired of spending that kind of loot. Well..then again look how huge their beach front second home is…money probably isn’t tight.

Chuck found this little guy on the sidewalk of our house. He likes turtles.

One last look at the place with Chuck’s car all packed up. Next year we are going to get it for 2 months through October. Everyone should come down and visit. Mark it on your calendars!

Shore House ‘07
So we had a blast down at the shore house this year. First year we had it for 6 weeks and it was well worth it. Def. gonna do it again next year. not much can be said about the waves but we did plenty of other stuff during the non-surfing hours…
Like Bird did a lot of sea gull chasing.

I fed this one because he stayed quiet and didn’t call in his troops…they don’t eat sour patch kids by the way.

We pretty much sat in these 3 chairs every weekend and did absolutely nothing. With the exception of the following photos of bird and his hottie he made all by himself…loving it.

Chuck is back down there now and I’m heading back down tom. It’s gonna be in the 80’s this weekend which will be perfect..
Dirty Jersey has been good to us this year. ‘07 was epic.
