Sweet Husband

While I was out at my bachelorette party (that Chuck drove me to and picked my drunk ass up from) my amazing hubby was home being creative and making me a surprise. Last time he did this I came home and the kitchen was bright orange and is still my favorite room in our house…this time he made this insane photo super big on his printer and plastered it on our garage wall. We have really high ceilings in the garage so it looks awesome in there. It is our main entrance into our house so it’s cool to see that every time I come home!

yeah Chuck. Bravo.

How good does the Chevy look all clean and ready for warm weather…ha

Bacheorette Obama

Here are the things I scored at the club during the bachelorette party and also some funny dinner shots.

We went to a great Italian place in South Philly called Ava.

Killer BYOB!

If you haven’t gone you should…it’s a little sketchy on weekend nights but the food is worth it. South Philly can be a weird place when the sun goes down. Either super quaint or super not.

Gee

so that lady won Pa by a little more then 200,000 votes.

Ironically the estimated number of independents in this state that weren’t allowed to vote yesterday.

Hmmmm. Wonder what the outcome would have been for real?

Big Day

Today is Earth Day. Take a moment to do something nice for the earth.

Please.

Thanks.

Today is also the PA Primary. It’s been crazy around these parts in the last few weeks. Lots of roads closed and tons of annoying radio/TV adds that are all going to stop today. Whew. Feels like we would never make it to election day. It gets over whelming and everything starts to blur together. PA is a closed primary which means about 200,000 independent voters won’t get to cast their votes. Chuck went this morning in hopes of casting his and was turned away for no party affiliation. Dumb. Stupid that 50 states have 50 different rules for primaries. Oh well.

On the up side - I scored some of those sick Shepard Fairy posters, some old school style campaign buttons and some insane stickers at a bachelorette party this past weekend. They campaign everywhere - even in the back corner by the bathroom at big club in Philly. If they could I think they would have gone in the bathroom. Crazy.

wine tasting in DC

So I’m going to pretty much let the pictures tell the story. It was a blast and Mary and Josh really set it up great! Thanks guys!! Cant wait for the next one :)

The vineyards:

jeff had to give the cab driver directions with his garmen

let the games begin

Then it was off to do some speed sight seeing in DC

Josh was so pissed when one of his neighbors saw bird doing this. Can’t imagine why. HA

This is the door that leads into the archives building in Washington DC. Huge. No one was home apparently so we moved on to bigger and better.

Special Day

Today would have been Chuck’s best friend Dave’s 35th birthday. He died a few years ago and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Dave was a navy seal and died in training exercises in Guam.

We went down to DC this weekend for a wine tasting and realized on the way down that it was ironically his birthday weekend. We decided to spend the morning there hanging out with him and watching the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

Arlington is a very humbling place and if you have never been it should be on the top of your short list of places to visit. It is 624 acres of hollowed ground that can’t be compared to any where else in the world. I get the chills the moment we step out of the car and onto the grass near Dave’s head stone. He was a really special guy and I just wanted him to know that he is still really missed in this family…

DUDE…

All I have to say is always keep your change. I have to admit we have been collecting change for about a year or so and I finally decided to take it to the bank and cash it in. The machine at Commerce is awesome. This really nice guy offered to help carry my heavy plastic containers in which was the first plus. Then he showed me how to use the machine and pretty much did all the work for me.

They have this game that you are supposed to guess the amount and if you are within $1.99 then you win a “prize”. I guessed $225. The guy looked at me funny and said you have a little more then that and he said he thought about $300 or so. I laughed - thinking he was crazy. Long story short we were both freakin’ way off.

$684 bucks!! SWEEEEEET. cashed it in and called it a good day off. So worth the effort.

I came right home and started another bin in hopes of doing it again before out big trip to Tokyo. Some spending cash would be nice :)

yeah commerce is a great bank..nice people…open 7 days a week…a coin counting machine that has become my new best friend. wahooo

look out

Man these vineyards have no idea what they are in store for tomorrow. It’s gonna get ugly quick and I have a feeling we may even be the first crew thrown out of a wine tasting event for this season. WOOT. Bring on the iron-on Boones Farm T-shirts.

cool campaign art

This is the only thing cool about the campaign that I have seen so far. not impressed with anything else though.

Good job Shepard!

Josh- don’t pass out. This does not reflect my political views…

just my taste in cool art work.

couldn’t end soon enough

Yesterday was one of the worst in a really long time. Insane.

Patients were super sick/ not enough time to eat/ not enough time to get half my paperwork done/ projectile vomiting patients in your general direction/ using way too many curse words in one sentence/stupid people in my way constantly/ traffic going in to the city/ traffic coming home from the city/ ugh. Glad I woke up today and have the next 4 days off. I don’t think I could have gone back today.

On a brighter note…I am thankful for my wonderful hubby who makes coming home amazing. I broke my phone and he got me a new one and loaded all my old contacts and everything into it and even stopped by the hospital to drop it off to me on his way out. PLUS- he lent me his beloved iphone for the time that i was out of mine. Chuck rules. But I already new that.

So here’s to starting this mini-vacation off right and leaving all that crap behind. Going to the gym to take out anything left on the treadmill.

blah blah blah.

LAX

Going to the wings game tonight. First and last of the season. We had good intentions on going to more than one but it just didn’t happen. They are in the running for first place in the league so at least it should be exciting!

Word is that Burton did their bi-annual lay off yesterday. Rumor has it to be in at about 50 people this time around.

Fancy Pants

Going down to Washington DC for a wine tasting. Josh and Mary set it up and we are on a crazy chartered bus and everything. Should be great. I have never gone wine tasting and I am really looking forward to it. I’m hoping that the Cherry blossom’s will still be in bloom. We are going to make a crazy run through the museum’s and shops as well.

CSA

Joined our local organic farm CSA finally. There weren’t any openings last summer, so I made sure I got on the wait list early this season and we made it in for this year. Super excited for fresh organic eggs/veggies and fruit. Bring it on!
